Royal Wedding Fever

What will Kate Be Wearing?

British Summer time is officially here and I love it!  The change in season of course also means a change to your wardrobe so time to pack away your jumpers, woolly hats and winter coats and cross your fingers that this hot weather is going to stay! I have officially started wearing my summer sandals again and I have started to feel really excited, looking forward to all the summer events that lie ahead.
My diary is full with weddings this year, not only with bookings but also with a lot of friend’s weddings - I think I must be at that age.
It is indeed a very important month for us here at Chameleon Image Consultancy I have just been at a family wedding which was extremely special to me.  I worked very closely with the bride to be and Chameleon Image Consultancy even got its very own thank you in the wedding speech!  Didn’t she look amazing?

We have also all been getting very worked up about the next up and coming wedding - the big royal wedding of Catherine Middleton and Prince William.

It is nearly upon us!  I cannot wait to find out who will dress Kate and what the dress will look like?  Shopping for the perfect wedding dress is no easy task and for some people can end up being quite stressful - with the daunting task of walking down the aisle with everyone looking at you – What’s the dress like?!!   It is the one day where like it or not all eyes are on you.  It is so important that you feel confident in what you are wearing - you need to look amazing and even more importantly feel amazing.   Can you imagine how Kate feels with an estimated audience of a billion people?  Image the pressure in finding your dress when you literally have the world’s eyes on you, all of them like me with bated breath to see what you wear!
There is so much speculation around who is going to create Kate’s dress and for the chosen one the honour of overnight super stardom.  According to a recent article that I read there will be three gowns made for Kate on her big day which of course will be made by three separate designers.  I can only imagine the confidentially contracts that the designers will have had to sign if they have been chosen, remaining tight-lipped until the very big day but of course just in case anything gets leaked – Kate has three options to go for to ensure that it stays a secret.

This is already different to what Diana did who announced her designer Emanuel well ahead of the wedding but one thing they did do was have two identical dresses made should something happen to one of them.

I have to say that when I’m working with brides-to-be one of my first big tips I say is to go for Kate’s way andkeep it a secret!  Now I’m not saying you need to get three different dresses made (can you imagine the cost!?) But do just stick to one person to help you choose, otherwise you’ve got too many people’s opinion to deal with!  One person you trust for all visits is best and let this person be the only person who sees and knows about your dress before the wedding.  Your friends will be guessing about what styles they think you will have gone for – and more importantly than that, it will ensure that you get to have the ultimate impact adding to your wow factor on your big day!

I have a few ideas of my own about what I think Kate will go for.  She is definitely of ‘Classic’ wardrobe personally so the dress will definitely be in keeping with this style.  Her style is elegant but also she is timeless in the way she dresses and not a follower of the trends.

She is definitely not dramatic in her style and she will have to be very careful to be not revealing in what she wears!  This will certainly rule out certainly any gypsy wedding style/Jordon the bigger the better styled dresses - this would definitely not be her!

I know as a royal bride there are rules that she will have to cover her shoulders so this will also rule out a lot of the classic boob-tube styled dressesI also anything so risky let’s rule out short styles and also anything low cut can you imagine the press, they would have a field day!

I think she’ll look gorgeous and elegant in a lace dress.  It needs to have beautiful details close up.  I think she’ll have more a fishtail than a full skirt.

I’m sure she will have a long veil she is going to be a princess it is like a fairy tale and is definitely fitting for her (if she doesn’t she definitely should have!!).  Long veils are so beautiful and Kate’s will possibly be embellished with white-gold threads and diamonds.  It’s the one day you’ll get to wear one – and in my opinion will really add to the full drama of your dress.

Kate Middleton doesn’t have family tiaras- so she will have to lend one - well this can be her something borrowed (she can have the blue sapphire engagement ring as her something blue!).  As soon as she is married Kate will immediately inherit a tiara.  I wonder which one she will wear?  My favourite one is The King George III Tiara.  Tip from me; if you would like to wear  some jewels in your hair don’t just look in wedding shops you’ll find they are very expensive and quite often you can buy one just as nice online so make sure you shop around.

The royal wedding will take place on April 29th at Westminster Abbey.  Do you have your very own royal wedding coming up?  Whether you’re the guest of the wedding, bride-to-be, mother-of-the-bride/groom or bridesmaid we offer a tailored service for weddings which includes; Body Line Consultation, Colour Analysis and personal shopping experience to take the stress out of finding that flawless look for the wedding.
I am in no doubt that Kate is going to look amazing on her big day but believe me she will not do this on her own!  There will be a big ‘team Kate’ of stylists, designers, make-up artists, hairdressers etc. to make sure this happens! But the good thing is you don’t have to be a princess to be, to have the royal treatment!  Chameleon is on hand and believe me we will be a lot cheaper! Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like any further information whether it’s finding a dress with the wow factor, a hat to finish an outfit or shoes to dazzle on the dance floor.

In special honour of the Royal Wedding we are also running a special offer on Wedding Consultations - buy one Consultation get  second Consultation half price! -  Please get in touch for more details as we can tailor this to your needs.
